Important source

Someone needs to add this source ASAP to Weekly Shonen Jump: https://comicbook.com/anime/2019/11/06/weekly-shonen-jump-manga-controversy-hidden-nudity/.

For some reason I cant edit that page, or its talk page, but this is very important and sourced informationAbsinthe30 (talk) 09:12, 11 December 2019 (UTC)

If you see the word "Controversy" then another source is needed to back up and balance out the claim. That being said, we currently don't have comicbook.com as a reliable source. I did some digging into the author's background and didn't find too many promising results. [1], [2]. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 14:27, 11 December 2019 (UTC)
FYI, ANN covered the incident: https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2017-07-12/yuragi-so-no-yuna-san-stirs-controversy-over-sexual-depictions-in-shonen-jump/.118693. There have been other moments of controversy with WSJ as well. That being said, I don't know if a controversy section should be added--maybe I can bring it up on the talk page of the article. Sandtalon (talk) 22:59, 14 January 2020 (UTC)
If it's that important, other sources will show up to corroborate this. But the article is still edit protected as it has been vandalized heavily by sockpuppets. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:04, 12 December 2019 (UTC)
As shown above, Absinthe30 has been banned for sockpuppeting. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:19, 7 January 2020 (UTC)

BarnSakura

Sakura Barnstar Hires.png

I've added an alternative version of BarnSakura to Template:BarnSakura Award. Jerm (talk) 21:07, 10 January 2020 (UTC)

That's pretty cool! ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 01:39, 31 January 2020 (UTC)

Are those reliable sources?

Please see Talk:Knights_of_Sidonia#Third_season?. Are any of the sources I found reliable enough to add info to the article that '3rd season was announced in 2017'? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 15:30, 16 January 2020 (UTC)

Template:Infobox character and WAF

I am reaching out to your project because your project may have an interest in this discussion: Template talk:Infobox character § Removing parameters regarding WP:WAF. Izno (talk) 16:18, 18 January 2020 (UTC)

Interesting situation at List_of_My_Hero_Academia_characters

There was a vast removal of content relating to character details, simply see the page history and talk page. Further comments to facilitate a more thorough editor consensus would be appreciated. Tutelary (talk) 20:10, 20 January 2020 (UTC)

Also, why is the list included in Category:LGBT characters in anime and manga? @Alfie: says that the list fulfils the criteria of a list of anime or manga with LGBT characters, and I'd like to know what exactly is that criteria? there are two transgender characters in the list and that's all, is that enough reason to include the whole list? - Xexerss (talk) 04:06, 26 January 2020 (UTC)
There's a bigger issue concerning lack of sourcing for descriptions provided for characters in general, which was why it was severely trimmed. As for LGBT characters, it doesn't fit WP:CATDEF but a redirect with the names of those characters would. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 05:53, 27 January 2020 (UTC)

Tagged for notability since 2008

Hi there are three manga articles that have been tagged for notability since October 2008 - Magical Twilight, Megachu! and Private Psycho Lesson. Would someone mind looking at the sources for them and either improving them and removing the tag or putting them up for deletion? Thanks Mccapra (talk) 04:18, 27 January 2020 (UTC)

Kyoto Animation arson attack GA review in progress

Please consider helping out with fixing the items listed here. Thanks! ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 00:29, 31 January 2020 (UTC)

The article passed and was promoted! Thanks to Dekimasu for helping out and MX for pointing out areas of improvement. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 19:17, 4 February 2020 (UTC)

Sports manga

I've created the page sports manga to cover the genre. Ideally, every sports series that uses Template:Infobox animanga that currently links to "Sports" in the genre field should pipe the link as [[Sports manga|Sports]]. Just wanted to flag this, in case anyone felt like doing a bunch of manual inputting or making a bot. Morgan695 (talk) 22:09, 5 February 2020 (UTC)

Edit proposals for Infobox animanga

IP at the Weekly Shōnen Sunday and Takashi Shiina articles

Some here might want to assess the "it's pornography" edits made by the 107.77.236.125 (talk · contribs · WHOIS). Flyer22 Frozen (talk) 00:30, 8 February 2020 (UTC)

BasedAtlas/AvatarYoshi blocked for socking

As you may know, one of our most prolific users who regularly updates the anime with the latest news has been blocked for sockpuppetry and block evasion. I would like Xezbeth to handle 2020 in anime from now. ミラP 04:11, 10 February 2020 (UTC)

Looking into the history for the first block, it looks like AvatarYoshi posted a bunch of unsourced material and got warned, blocked for that. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 02:59, 12 February 2020 (UTC)

Idol anime and manga

I'm interested in splitting off a section I wrote for Japanese idol, titled Japanese idol#Anime and video games, into something like Idol anime and manga. Would anyone be interested in helping? lullabying (talk) 18:35, 13 February 2020 (UTC)

IP adding voice actor heights

Just a heads up that 59.3.211.106 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) is adding unsourced heights to a whole bunch of articles on voice actors. The infobox documentation for the parameter states: "If person was notable for their height, or if height is relevant". As far as VAs are concerned, it's not relevant at all. Might need someone with the proper tools to mass-revert. Opencooper (talk) 07:28, 15 February 2020 (UTC)

  • @Opencooper: What about voice actors who are incidentally singers, models, and (live-action) actors? A lot of voice actors also fall under those categories these days. lullabying (talk) 07:31, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
That might make it slightly more relevant, but doesn't allay concerns over mass-addition of unsourced information. There could be BLP issues and we have no idea where this data is coming from (if it's jawiki, that's CIRCULAR). Opencooper (talk) 07:35, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
Their profile on Oricon usually lists their height, which is what I've been using to source birthdays, birthplaces, and heights. lullabying (talk) 10:24, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
